This season.
I'm working with eight birth families right now. Postpartum slots are open in August, September, and October, one a month; July, November, and December are full. Womb Wellness Coaching is open too: I take a small caseload of coaching clients alongside the births.
I'm reading The Fourth Trimester by Kimberly Ann Johnson for the second time this year. I keep coming back to her chapter on the pelvic floor as the floor of everything, not just the floor of birth.
Clinically I've been thinking about the gap between week six and week twelve postpartum, which most American practices don't check. I wrote a letter about it last month; if it would help to read it, it's here.
Other things: I walked the loop around the reservoir in Anderson on Sunday morning and the trees were finally green. I made a pot of beef stew for the week. The light in the kitchen at 3pm is the best light in the house this time of year, which I'm noticing more often than I used to.
If you want to talk, you know how to find me. snaftzger@wovenwomb.us or the call page. I write back within two business days.
